A Weird Anniversary

This week is a weird anniversary for me. A year ago I had to do something terrible to a mom to save her baby"s life. This is an open letter for that mom, just in case she happens to read my blog.

Dear Patient:

I am really sorry that what happened happened. I think about it every day, and every day, I wish I had found a better solution than I did. I hope your baby"s well. I think about you and your family every day. Above all, I hope that you don"t think about the awful pain and distress of what happened every time you look at your baby. I wish you and your family nothing but joy and peace.
